Norm I thought about that and know about the Sweptlines, my Dad had a 68 D200 with a rubber mat and the common problem moisture = rust. I also share your concerns about future work on the truck which is a contributing factor on why I wouldn't want it sprayed on direct. My thought was a coat of POR-15 or Zero rust, whatever then use a loose mat that would facilitate easier clean up. Either way it's a compromise no matter which way I go plus it's not a cheep process. I may do just the rust paint for now since I have my A100 project waiting in the shop right now.
