Notice they are also listing the Carter E7S1 carbs for those same years, which agrees with all of the Dodge literature I have seen, along with the Carter literature I have. I wonder where they got their information from for the website. I have a listing at the bottom of my chart of all of the places I went to find the information. If they got their information from Dodge, then there should be some literature or records out there from which their information came from.

Stromberg literature, and Carter literature for that matter, would usually just list the carburetors of their's that were designed to work on a particular vehicle. It could be an OEM carb, or it could be a replacement carb. It usually takes literature straight from Dodge to deceipher what outside vendor provided the OEM parts. I tend to think the Stromberg was probably an approved replacement for the original Carter. Or maybe, Carter could not meet the demand from Dodge for a few years, and they had to turn to other sources for some trucks. Usually this would be indicated in the parts manuals so one would be sure of getting the correct repair parts. All of the Dodge numbers in the Power-Wagon parts lists are for Carter carbs. Listed in the link below are the Power-Wagon pars lists I have seen so far.

I would be very interested in seeing Dodge literature listing the Stromberg carburetor as original equipment for the Power-Wagon. This would open up a whole new subject for study.

Thanks Will.

Clint
