Wasn't funny at the time. Now that I think about it, what you wrote about watching a forest fire from a lake made me think of this. I met a man who survived one of the Tillamook burn fires sweeping over him by submerging himself in the river. My fishing partner introduced us and I heard the story from him so it was not direct but a good source. Pretty scary stuff.
