I used the tried and true Pucker balancing method to install a heavy Clark 280VO in the 63 W300 this weekend.

1) Drag trans under truck
2) lift onto regualr floor jack
3) position trans on small undersized jack lifting plate
4) lay on your side parallel to the jack
5) using you leg in a scissor fashion at the jack handle, begin lifting the trans lifting the trans
6) When the jack is half way up, begin Puckering, you can create a suction at each fingertip, attach it to the trans to help balance. I magine your fingers are like those of a gecko.
7) Continue scissoring with your legs, check groin for potetial swelling.
8) Increase pucker as you near the top of jack limit.
9) Carefully align input shaft thru throw out bearing
10) Chain around the frame rails, under the trans, decrease pucker.
11) reposition jack to allow alignment of clutch disc and input shaft
12) Use trans bolt in sequence to draw trans to bell housing
13) Release pucker, withdraw your jean creavass, using hand if necessary.
14) Ponder the use of a real trans jack
