Don,
The rear ends are identical, but that's just the differential carrier and assy. The axle housing and axle shafts are shorter (narrower track) so they wont work. A suggestion is to look for a late 3/4 ton rear axle assembly that is complete. It has a centered differential and will greatly reduce the geartrain wine you hear while driving. I would also suggest putting in 4.89 gears to make the truck more driveable on todays roads. If you prefer to stay original, I'll see if I have a spare set of axle shafts and a differential that's any good.
