Don't know what carb you have but napa still has kits for some of the old Carters. If they don't there's an outfit in Tacoma (can't remember the name) that has kits going way back. They run about $35, but it's cheaper than a new carb.

Rebuilding these old carbs is pretty simple. The main thing is have a clean place to work, keep track of all the little parts, and draw pictures of where they go when you take it apart if it's not obvious. "rebuilding" is mostly cleaning, since there isn't much that wears out usually.
