Adjust all you want you still have a loose chain, Norm, you are off here, this is a classic case of chain slipping under load, very common to those who offroad with the 203, crops up with high milage and big cubic inch 440 cid producing gobs of horsepower. That is why a kit was produced to adjust chain slack, have you ever installed or seen one, can not remember who sells it, there is also a kit to eleiminate the chain and make it gear drive forever, check a real 4x4 shop who works on 203 t/c. Go to pirate 4x4 and ask guys who really wheel offroad and compete, these are forum experts with trailer/mall trucks!
