Hi Marty -

The sump is at the rear on the T6.354, and the oil pan is not reversable, like I thought it might be. I think that getting the springs done (+ add 1 leaf) will take care of the clearance problee, but a modifiaction to one corner of the sump would not be critical, there is a big screen with a coil "spring" that fits on the end of the pickup tube. And there is a big area to "cut" if needed without touching the screen. I am gonna take some photos before I progress any further. HAving the deep sump is nice for 4x4ing, as the well keeps oil in it, and keeps it flowing.
