Steel Bolts on Aluminum are a bit of a no no.

Always use stainless or Brass with Aluminum, but I'm sure they'll be fine for many years in this application. Steel reacts with Aluminum & causes the aluminum to badly corode where they contact. I believe it's the same principal as an Anode which is welded to Tugs, barges & ships to help stop corrossion. The aluminum or often Zinc Anode will be the "sacrificial lamb" so to speek & when the ship comes back 4 years later the Aluminum or Zinc strips are gone...much as your aluminum straps will be if you wait long enough.
