That sure looks like the log splitters once sold. I have seen ones like that, that you took a rear wheel off and mountes the bracket to the lug nuts. To use it, you had to push a log (sideways) against the point. It would start to srew in, you let go of the log and it would rotate and when it hit the ground it stopped and the screw worked itself in and split the log. I wonder how many lost arms and heads with that baby ??
