Dale, are u saying that if u used wrapped pipe they wont deliver propane? That would be absurd!!
Wrapped pipe is yellow. The yellow is a hard plastic shell around the pipe and there is a black tar like coating on the pipe, inside the yellow casing.
Green pipe is feeble in comparison to wrapped pipe. If they allow green to be buried in NM, they are way loose in their minimum acceptable standards.
Please explain what fittings are used with the green pipe and how u address the bare steel that is exposed during threading, as well as all the green coating that is scraped off by the jaws of the pipe wrench?
The system is only as good as its weakest link, and unless u address the areas listed, u havent really accomplished much by using the green pipe.
As far as I know, there is no such thing as a green coated fitting. Only black and galvanized.
