Yes bob there is!! if it is not hooked up and not adjusted corrctly the tranny will usually have erattic shifting points, you can run one with out but you will need a manual only shift body, you can run with out it hooked up but after ahile you will burn the clutches out, some will probably disagree but its on there for more than just passing gear.
