I find if you sit in the seat with your knees behind the wheel putting pressure upwards, then hit the steering shaft with a brass drift once....hard. Be sure to thread the nut on the shaft first so there is enough slack to have the wheel come loose, but you don't want the drift to come in contact with the nut or it will damage the threads. Try a little penetrating oil overnight before you start if you have time.
