Well "original" on a Power Wagon or truck for that matter is kinda in a gray area compared to say Muscle Cars or other cars for that matter.

The Power Wagons came with a bed on them but didnt they also come as a cab/chassis so you could put on a flatbed or a utility type bed or firetruck bed?! Some of those were probably factory installed or at least dealer installed so in a way the odd ball beds could be considerd original or factory. You can get new trucks this way now also.

I'd have to say an original would be a truck running and stopping on the parts it came from the factory with. Old drum brakes, flathead, the tranny and transfer case and front and rear diffs it is supposed to have.

I did ask on the last forum about VIN and how to tell if something is original on the flat fender trucks and the answer was no it was just a serial # indicating the make, year and # and where it was built at.

Original also could be untouched since it left the factory. Like no rebuilds or restoration. So in some ways it would be hard to document or prove a PW is "original" to know if thats the original engine in it or a replacement.we know its a 230 flathead but was that the 230 flathead that was put in on the assembly line. If its not then the truck is not really "original"?!?!

My 69 Charger I just bought last summer is "original" although very rough and tired with 224000 miles on it its considered "original" while my 71 is about 90% thru a "restoration".

Theres just all different kinds of ways to look at it.
