I invite everyone to read the Disclaimer. I suggested to Joe that he add a disclaimer when a Forum visitor posted incorrect information about the purpose of the arrows or index punch marks on the Brake Shoe Anchor Bolts. These marks are used in a critical step for adjusting the brakes that is specified on Page 86 of the Dodge Truck Shop Manual. The arrows are not - as this uninformed individual stated - to indicate the direction for installing the "circlip" type washer, Part number 77 607.

Some who contribute technical information on the Forum are qualified by experience. Some have the technical publications. There are a few who have both.

Any technical information I contribute comes from legitimate sources. If someone wanted to sue me for any technical advice I posted, their lawyers would advise them that the advice was technically correct. On the other hand, the author of incorrect information might be found culpable if his or her unsubstantiated opinion caused loss or injury.

It's regrettable that some Forum visitors feel the need to support their opinions so vehemently in the light of being corrected. I am no expert in human psychology. I do know that I would be an idiot if I presumed to go on a woodcarvers' forum and give improper advice on the use of chisels when that advice could result in injury to an inexperienced woodcarver who looked to that forum to increase his knowledge.

I will continue to provide only the most competent and authoritative technical information in my Forum postings. My area of knowledge is restricted to flat fender Dodges and the flathead, six-cylinder Chrysler motor. I have listed my qualifications and described my reference library in the Technical Support section of the Power Wagon Journal. I continue to be willing to scan and transmit specific portions of my technical references to anyone. My involvement with Power Wagons (generic) is intended to add to the knowledge of Power Wagon owners and aficionados at any level of expertise. Safety is foremost. I also hope to increase my knowledge and welcome competent input. Any opinions I express will be identified as such.
