You mean you want the headache rack parallel to the back of the cab? Like || and not \/ or /\? Or do you mean spacing the bed height to match the cab? If the former, don't see how you could go wrong taking your bracket measurements off the frame. Trouble I've run into with flatbeds w/out wells, is keeping the bed low as possible without getting too close to the tires. I've always just spaced the bed frame up an equal amount front and rear and it's worked fine. Are you running a couple of beams along the frame rails and pinching them between bed and frame or are you using cross pieces underneath?
