The heavy duty engines are larger in dimensions[width and length], use different exhaust manifolds, water outlets to the radiator are all in different locations compared to the standard engines. So, you will end up with problems trying to line up stuff. The bigger trucks even though they were still convential cabs the cab's were raised up off the frame a lot more than the 100 & 200 pickups, this gave them a lot more room in the engine bay. That's why if you look at the 300's and up they have that extended pan between the grille and the bumper.
I'm not saying it won't fit, but you will have to make some modifications to get everything to fit right.
