Details: I call this truck "the mongrel." Its claim to fame is that it was used once to haul portions of a beached whale from the Oregon coast for a marine biology class. The dilapidated wood flatbed I removed from it reeked if it sat in the sun. It was a Navy crew-cab, and later used by Maine Civil Defense. I am the third adult owner since it left gov. service. The previous owner installed a '68 engine and transmission. The rear axle is a limited slip from a later truck. It now has a '68 2-door cab from a D-100. It has a rear bumper and pintle hitch but no bed or tail lights. The cab and front sheet metal were undercoated with Defender rust inhibitor prior to painting. The mirrors are from a mid '90s Ford service truck.

I drove this truck for about a year hauling building materials and enjoyed it. I am selling it because it needs maintenance and finishing I don't have time for, and I have accumulated way to many vehicles (18 at present).

It needs the following attention that I am aware of:

It has some dents and dings and a small amount of rust in the door corners. The camo paint job and "bullet" trim will probably get you honorable mention if you happen to visit Chadron, Nebraska during the "Ugly Truck Show and Parade." I recently installed a rebuilt master cylinder and a re-lined emergency brake band. The brakes need additional work as the pedal goes mostly to the floor, at the very least they need adjustment. The exhaust system needs to be replaced. I have noticed a slight "rattle" in the front end when driving in 2wd in higher gears with the hubs engaged but haven't identified the source. The engine has 140K miles and smokes a little
