I am the second owner of a 5 year old truck with 79000 miles. I have no warranty to claim against. That said, I've been down the expensive repair fiasco before, with a GMC Turbo 700R4 tranny, and wish to avoid it again if I can. The previous owner mentioned getting the tranny serviced, but there are no records, so I don't know what fluid was used. I'd like to drain and refill using the new MOPAR 9602 spec fluid, which is now recommended for ALL chrysler products, with the exception of pre 99 minivans.
I wanted to run Mobil 1, but they do not meet the spec. Amsoil does. Mopar does, too.
