Back before the H2 was a GM product, there was a kit-car outfit that built a fiberglass Hummer replica called the "Bummer". The kit installed on a stock GM 4X4 pickup (or maybe Suburban, don't remember) chassis. Looked more like a real hummer than the present H2. The kit was sold as a way to have the look (envy factor?) of the real thing at a fraction of the cost. I remember reading a little news clip in a 4X4 magazine saying that GM was bringing out their own version, (wonder where they got the idea) and had bought out the kit-car manufacturer and made that product just "Go Away". They didn't want any of those Cheap Knock-Offs mistaken for their "real thing". Joe L.
