I used to always have a wet spot under my fuel pump on my WDX. Thinking it was the connections at the fuel pump I tightened the connections. Still had a wet or damp spot. During the last engine rebuild I had the short piece of fuel hose that connected between the steel line and the fuel pump off. Even after setting idle for several months it was wet. Bingo, found where I was always leaking fuel. I now have a new line on there. Robert
