The added depth of the offset causes the back of the wheel to contact the drum in a way that can cause the rivets holding the wheel together to wear and fail, causing the wheel to come apart! The rear drums on the 1/2 ton are slightly different than drums on the 3/4 ton and later trucks!! I remember this warning from an article in the Army Motors magazine years ago!! Safe running!!!
