We have rearched, and dearched a few sets of springs at the machine shop I work in. We mostly do it for the dirt-track stock car guys, and as far as I know, there have been no problems. The springs have to be completely disassembled, and run through our plate bending rolls one leaf at a time. I usually take them just a LITTLE bit past the desired curve, as they seem to settle back just a bit in the first while. After that, they seem to keep their curve pretty well. Any welding / fabrication shop that has a set of plate rolls should be able to do this for you. To save a little on shop labour, disassemble them first, tie a piece of heavy wire through the centre hole to keep them organized, provide a template / pattern to roll them to, and clean the grease and loose dirt off. Don't bother touching the rust, as most of it flakes off in the rolling process. Hope this helps. Joe L.
