heck i just put a new alternater on my 88 toyota van yesterday and it is a good thing that i did it at work and was able to use a carlift beacus i would have been screwed at home or the side of the road.i put a new starter on a 91 4 runner also and the same story. i had to lift the vehicle then lower it and you know the story. before buying a unfamilar 4x4 i would check it out on trailside repairs before buying it cause you may have to leave it and start over with another vehicle and that would not be good.
