You did well. If you're running Norton and the definitions are up to date, your computer is probably fine. Norton probably quarantined the file to protect you, and the message is just to let you know.
Last week I got about 50 returned mail messages from servers that automatically trapped emails with viruses supposedly coming from me, and each one had good old wklez32 embedded.
Truth is, forums get mined by automatic software for addresses routinely, and those addresses are used by other automatic software to send viruses everywhere. Unfortunately, if your address gets used, and the mail gets blocked by a smart server and returned to you, the virus coming back is just as deadly to you as it would have been for the intended addressee.
Plain and simple: if you like to post replies on any forum today, make sure you have good, up to date, antivirus software. Otherwise, protect your address (see below).
By the way, there is not much Joe can do about this. It's everyones job to proect themselves.
