First, I would look for an impression on the front of the fire wall where something may have it causing the cowl area to rise. Look at the dash as well. If you find something work those areas out to flatten that oil can.

If nothing is readily seen, then I would heat area before reaching a dull red glow. If you do reach the glow, wait till it's gone by allowing it to cool, then use a body hammer and pound it to shrink the steel. You can bend and reshape at that temp without overly stressing the area. I avoid using the water cooling method due to developing brittle spot areas. This may take several times until you have reshaped that area. If you end up going to far the opposite direction, that's ok just use body filler.
