My wife and I have a '94 Grand Cherokee Laredo with the 4.0 liter inline six. It has been a great vehicle. The first owner wrecked it causing over $3000 damage to the front end. It had been fixed when we bought it with 17k miles. We've had no problems from this damage. It now has over 65k miles and the only thing I have done to it is replace the front brake rotors and pads (the original composite(cast iron and steel) rotors were not very good). The six has plenty of power for me, but I don't tow with it. For towing anything but something light it might be underpowered. 19-20 mpg on the highway is average. Hope this advice helps.
