pardon me while I vent...

Our local NAPA store recently sold, and relocated. It was a real bummer for a lot of us, as the previous owner and his employees really knew their stuff, best of all they are vintage Mopar nuts, and fellow Power Wagon owners.

The brakes shoes they provided me for 98 Ram 2500 4X4 were correct, but the location of the e-brake hardware mounting holes was wrong. The e-brake cables enter the backing plates from diff ends, side to side. One works the rear shoe, on the opposite side it works the front shoe. The holes for mounting the e-brake arm where both on the thick shoe, which is rearward. I returned the shoes, went to Autozone and saved $35.00 in the process. Their shoes had the holes on all shoes, so you could not screw up.

A 2 3/8 chrome socket at NAPA was $70.00, while Sears carried the same at $21.00.

Today, in a rush to get seals and wheel studs for my trailer, I went to NAPA again.
The studs were not available, but the seals were at the warehouse - $12.38 each, they could have them by 4:00. Guy suggested I try a local brake co for the studs, so I went their and know the owner also.

He provided me with 6 studs, 6 lug nuts, cotter pins, and 2 wheel seals for $12.73.
He also carried 1 1/2" rh and lh lug nuts that will fit a FF PW.

So, if the old owners of NAPA see this post, we miss you guys man!!
