Back in my shipyard diesel days, we used a IR brand air impact with a 2 1/2 inch drive. We had to use a pipe on the handle and wedge it into something before hitting the trigger. Nuts would either come off or the bolt would shear. Either way, the engine came out on time. If I remember I think it was a 3/4 inch air line supply right off of the dry dock.
