Back, (way back) in my youth, I put together a VW
Bug motor. (sorry to say that in this forum) & it
would not start no mater what. I had tried it so
much, that finally, the rings began to squeek as
they moved because I had washed all the lube away
with gas & starting fluid. I squirted some ATF in
each hole & with the new burst of compression added
to new rings, it started right up. Are your rings
dry? Have you done a compression check?
