That was my conversion. Its a Buick 231 v6 (90 deg). The saginaw box fits fine next to the engine, the only problem is the exhast. The stock exhast manifolds I was going to use interfered with the steering box hoses. I bought a set of block hugger headers, and had to cut and reweld one of the pipes. You might have the same problems with a v8.
The v6 actually fits perfect in my 41 WC. The v6 and SM465 tranny are just a hair shorter than the stock setup.
