I put a SB 350 in my 1941 WC-12 (that's the powerplant I had available--the truck had a '50's-vintage Chrysler 392 hemi in it when I bought it, but it was a sloppy installation, very heavy, and ran like cr@p) . The engine compartment in the military half-tons are narrow. To prevent interference with the manual steering gearbox, I had to use the V8 "rams horn" exhaust manifolds, which I think were common on pre-1973 vehicles before all the smog controls. These manifolds were very common find in the junkyard.

I've removed the manual steering gearbox, and had to mail-order the reverse-rotation power steering gearbox, could not find one here in Hawaii salvage yards... It should arrive by the end of next week. I expect to have to fabricate some kind of adapter bracket, I have some steel plate standing by for that. I'll let you know how it goes, but I see no major obstacles to making this work.

The link I posted a couple messages up, that person used a V6, but I *think* he used the 90-degree V (not the 60-degree V), in which case the 90-deg V6 width should be the same as 90-deg V8. The main difference is the length from two more cylinders, thus figuring how to fit in with front clearance to the radiator and still connect in the back to the divorced transfer case.
