If you get #1 piston at top position with
both intake and exhaust valves closed, this is the
compression stroke. Next check and see if
distributor rotor is in #1 position, if it is not
this is the problem. You are out of time.
Install distributor now so as rotor is in
#1 postion. If you have fuel and spark , it
should start now .
I've done it this way many times
in order to get motors running,then you can fine tune
with timing light and tach.Carb adjustments can
be also made now.With vacumme gauge turn
adjustment screw either in or out in order
to acheive the most vacumme pressure.
