"Seems" like gas isn't getting through the carb? Spray a little starting fluid down the carb and try it. If it fires, then it isn't getting gas. Otherwise, you have another problem.
If it does fire, then temporarily replace the input gas line with a hose barb fitting and put a rubber hose into a gas can set on the roof of the truck, this will make a small amount of pressure by gravity - enough to run the engine. Suck a little gas through the hose and then connect to the carb. Now try it. If it starts, you have a blocked fuel line. If not, then something is wrong in the carb - probably a stuck float or clogged jet - might as well just rebuild it at that point if the parts are old.
