What information can be derived from the military markings on a truck? As an example, my 1942 WC 53 number (if I remember correctly) is "206007 USA". I have been told that this should be a 7 digit number but I found this number on both sides of the hood and on the tailgate. Also on the tailgate were the following Designations. "RE" "W4". I found no markings on the front bumper of the rear bumperettes.
Additionally, is there anyway to tie the the frame number to the engine number? I am interested to see if I have possesion of the original engine.
