I shipped a pair of fenders by bus last year, it was the least expensive option from North Carolina to New York.
Shipped them bare, with just a shipping label attached to each. Not the fastest, and you had to drop off and pick up
at the station, but hey offer package tracking and heavy odd shapes don't seem to bother them.
