I can't comment on whether this is the correct plug but any good parts store should be able to confirm the x-reference. As to NGK, I can attest that they make an A1 Grade A product. My first choice is ALWAYS to buy North American made products, but with our rental fleet of 21+/- Evinrude outboards, we had numerous "bad" Champion plugs over the last 15 years. Since switching to NGK, I get significantly more hours per set, smoother and longer consistency idle, and have not had a single bad plug. Additionally, a big plus for me, is that they come with a collar to protect the gap setting so no matter how many times the box is tossed or dropped, it is gapped correctly for it's intended application. More than once, I've been out late in the evening changing Champions only to much, much later discover that the engine didn't run right because of one of the new plugs. Removal of the new plug then showed a hammered together gap. Well... needless to say these experiences always make a "parts changer" mechanic
like me look "realy inteligent! I trade to a new fleet every 2 - 3 years just so every engine runs like a swiss watch and so I don't need to tinker with the "lifeblood" of our business.
Just my opinion... Tom
