Steve gets the win... I jump start heavy equip regularly,, but i hook the pos. to the starter after the selonoid, but dont hook the ground up. once you try to crank with the weak 6 volt, nail the ground to the starter, the 12 volts only circut through the starter, not the whole elect. system. I jump with 24 volts.<<< dont try this at home...
