Harry and HemiBoy are correct. There is no such thing as a dumb question, just dumb answers. I think the terms that you are refering to is "Big Block" vs. "Small Block". The 360 small block, as Harry noted, is part of the "A" (LA) block family. Big blocks are "B" (BB & RB) series, such as 383-440-426, etc. A 360 will (should, depending upon the year) bolt up to the 318 bell/transmission. As Noted BE-AWARE that the 318 and 360 are balanced differently, this is VERY important if you still have all of your original teeth! The 360 will need it's original flywheel and starter to work correctly.
