If you are spending a fair amount of time on the road, consider some of the less agressive all terrain tires available. I spend most of my off road time on the beach and went with Dick Cepek Fun Country 38.5 x 16.5 x 15.5 radials, (only 36" tall, despite the 38.5 inch rating). However these need to be on a 16.5 inch rims. B.F. Goodrich, General, Dunlop, Nitto, Goodyear, Kelly, Denman, Bridgestone all make 16 inch tires in larger sizes, upwards of 37 inches, which will work on the original rims.
Eddie
