It's true, if he purchases the truck, he can do whatever he wants to with it, no one will lock him up for his choice here. It is also true that very few of this model truck were produced, most people in this hobby have never even seen one. With that degree of rarity it would be a darn shame to destroy its originality in my opinion. You would probably be able to trade it to someone else who would restore it and in turn get another truck, as good or better for modification purposes.

As for absolute monetary value though, rarity does not necessarily mean big dollar value. For some people it may indeed be very valuable, but it is unlikely for large, old, all wheel drive trucks to bring big money. If they were greatly valuable, I have a one-of-a-kind, eight wheel drive REO which would be right up there.
