Hi,

When my engine guy balances my crank/flywheel/clutch, he drills and installs two roll pins to locate the pressure plate on the flywheel. These are placed so the cover can only be installed one way. He claims the bolt hole tolerances can throw off a good balance job. Now, this was done on 6500 rpm big blocks and probably is overkill for a flathead. Just thought I'd throw the idea into the ring for consideration.

Also, the clutch disk is not in with the pressure plate/flywheel combo during balancing, don't know why, maybe it is considered good enough or maybe hard to line it up during balancing? Doesn't affect the balance when clutch disengaged?

my $0.02,
mark
