Crankshaft Balancing

I'm having a reground 230 cid crankshaft balanced. I just spoke with the machinist today about it, and he told me that, unlike most other inline crankshafts, this one needs to have bob weights on it while balancing it. He said I need to bring in a connecting rod, piston, bearings and rings, so that he can weigh them and use the correct bob weight during the balance procedure.

He also said I need to find out what the percent balance is for this crankshaft/engine.

I've never heard of such a thing on an inline 6 cylinder engine. Has anyone else? Do you guys think this guy is up to snuff?? If he's right, do you know what the percent balance should be for this engine?

Thanks for any help,

Matt
