It seems these days that if a vehicle starts to fail at 40000 miles , then you have work for a number of mechanics , parts manufacturers, & more overhead for said auto co.I live not far from detroit, & our economy here is geared for the yuppie "off road machine" to haul the kids to soccer in(because it makes me feel safe) in turn why not build disposable vehicles that fall apart at low miles , the next guy after the lease has to bite the bullet & spend bookoo bucks on repairs when the warranty expires at 30k.(more auto co. profits) Dont get me wrong , I dont agree at all with modern engineering practices, If I'm going in debt for 30k , I think I deserve a vehicle that will give me at least150k miles & not be made out of cheeto wrappers that dent when I lean on it! & not have me concerned about trade in values after that unseen oak-branch guoges my paint while driving down a 2 track.
my truck isnt pretty, but at least its paid for , & I can repair darn near anything that fails on it
