Shepherd's ("How to Hot Rod The Small Block Mopar", or something like that) Recommends the Carter Thermo-quad for Mopar small blocks. I agree. The good thing about TQ's is the tiny primaries give good mileage (if you keep yer foot out of it) and the trash-can sized secondaries give awesome performance. When set up right you can't over carburate because of the air valve and they are virtually vapor-lock proof. They are adjustable for all altitudes by jet sizes and a setting screw on the enrichment circuit. They say the only setup that works better is a 6 pack. They also say that the best all around manifold is the later Factory cast-iron unless you're bracket racing, which we aren't. I can get you a TQ if you have spread-bore manifold. RE: Edelbrock carbs, they are remakes of the AVS and AFB carbs. It's no wonder rhey look like Carters.
