When the two metals are actually in contact (or are wired together) then the elctrolysis doesn'nt take place,since both pieces are then the same polarity, Notice that the plates in a lead/acid battery don't touch each other, they are actually separated by pourous envelopes. Notice also that headgaskets and brass fittings are in close contact with the block. I think a copper distribution tube would be a good idea. My stuff all had brass tubes,it is what was available at the time.
