Hi oldtruck,
Maybe I'm getting senile but I thought I posted to you??? Any disc brake, open knuckle Dana 44 from 1972 to 1993 will bolt right up. The steering and shock locations will be different but minor, and the 74 to 78 had some models with NP203 t-cases that were full time, there is NO provisions on those axles for hubs. stay away from them if possible. I used a '85 1 ton Dana 44 HD, only built from '85 to '87. They have the shift on the fly two piece axle and housing, don't be afraid of them, they are CHEAP (I paid $198) and easily converted to one piece tube about $10 buck at a yard, and the one piece Moser axle around $170, half the price of the Dana replacement and stronger.
Good luck post more, either here or at my site, as you get more into it and I'll walk you through it.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
MoparNorm
