I have a hook above the trusses for lifting in the shop. I put a 2 1/2 in X 1/4 thick angle iron accross 4 Trusses at the ridge just under the tin roof. It allows me to lift something right against the bottom of the truss with out the hoist getting in the way. The cable comes down to the side at floor level for opperating the hoist. I want a cherry picker, but I borrow Jims when I need one now. I also have a boom on the back of my tractor for putting things in & out of the truck or pulling engines with. Then I can drive around with it. Lifts to 9 ft. Mark H.
