As for price, if it runs and drives, and has no rust(check the cab mounts, above the headlights, the fenders in front of the doors, and the bottoms of the doors under the rubber), I would say it could be worth $4,000-$6,000 on the open market.
In your area may be worth less, do to many of them being around, and most not rusting out.
I would offer $1,000 if it is real nice, or if you get a vibe that they want more, go to $1,500 or $2,000.
I try to never pay more then $2,000 for a truck, as almost every time I get one home it needs more work then I thought when I start tearing it apart for what looked like minor repairs.
