What I was talking about is the guys that take a truck that needs a brake job, or a engine rebuild, and tear the whole thing apart for 5 years.

The trucks I get done tend to be more minor in needs, brake work, turn signals, steering knuckle rebuilds etc.

I do understand the problem with a total rebuild, you take one thing apart, and "while you are there" you do one other part, and that snowballs until the whole truck is in peices!

With the age of all of our trucks, they are often in a condition that requires a total rebuild before they can be used(the 58 PW TW I had last week is a case in point).

I guess I would do a total rebuild on most of the trucks I get if I had the choice, but I know the cost is to high, and some can be used as is, with a little work.

I have seen some of the trucks that guys rebuild, and I would have parted them out, so more power to anyone who takes on a project like that!

I was just trying to get some stories together that we could all look at when inspiration is low, and the money is tight.

It is a hard thing to work on a truck when it is all in peices, as the end is often well out of sight.

Just my thoughts.

I feel PW guys can be just as bad as Car Guys, and we have less referance material to use to put them back correctly, as well as fewer sources for parts.

Eric
